How do I reserve a vacation home with Step Away Lodging?
All Step Away Lodging homes require a 30% deposit when making the reservation. We will be happy to process this deposit with a credit card (Visa, MC, or Discover). This deposit is non-transferable and may not be applied to any other reservations. The remaining 70% balance is due 31 days prior to your arrival. For Extended Stay Rentals there is a 50% deposit and remaining 50% is due 90 days prior to your arrival and a security deposit of $500. We accept a maximum of two charge cards per reservation.
How many days should I stay when visiting Lincoln City and the Oregon Coast?
If you're just looking for a quick escape, a weekend getaway to Lincoln City can be refreshing and memorable. But if you really want to unwind, explore, and soak in everything the Oregon Coast has to offer, we recommend staying at least five days. With more time, you can truly settle into vacation mode — enjoy scenic hikes, savor local cuisine, browse charming shops, and maybe even discover a hidden glass float! The longer you stay, the more magic you’ll find.
What are your office hours and availability?
Yes, we are open Saturday and Sunday, 365 days a year! We are also available 24/7 in the event you need assistance at any of our homes.
What is your cancellation policy?
Should the need to cancel arise between the date the reservation is made and 31 days prior to your arrival a refund of the initial rental charge will be issued less a 10% cancellation fee and a $75 reservation fee. For cancellations that occur within 31 days of your arrival date the total rental charge will be non-refundable and non-transferable unless we are able to re-book your accommodations less a 10% cancellation fee and a $75 reservation fee. For Extended Stay Rentals there is a 50% deposit and remaining 50% is due 90 days prior to your arrival, cancellations are not offered once rental is paid in full. No refunds will be given for medical emergencies, late arrivals or early departures.
What are the general house rules for Step Away Lodging vacation homes?
All of the rental homes rented by Step Away Lodging are privately owned and reflect the personality and unique tastes of their owners. Because of this, we do not allow smoking or unauthorized pets in any of our rental homes. Our homes are located in small coastal communities, and we ask that you restrict all sound and noise to a reasonable volume. Tenants must conduct themselves in a manner that will not disturb any neighbor's enjoyment of the community. Step Away Lodging reserves the right to refuse service to anyone and especially those under the age of 25.
How much parking is available at each vacation home?
Within our beach communities, most garages are tucked out of sight behind cottages and parking is limited to two to five vehicles per cottage, please inquire as to how many parking spaces come with your desired beach cottage. We ask that our guests use the driveways to keep the neighborhood free for strolling, and biking.
How does housekeeping work during my stay?
Our housekeeping team works hard to ensure your home is clean, comfortable, and fully prepared for your arrival. For stays longer than seven nights, please let us know if you'd like to arrange for additional cleaning services during your stay. To help ensure a smooth and timely check-out, a Departure Procedure Checklist is provided in each home. We appreciate your cooperation in following these guidelines to help us maintain the quality of our vacation homes for all guests.
Is there a security deposit?
A $350 security deposit may be charged in the event of any violations of our no smoking, no pet, or maximum occupancy policies, or to cover any incidental damages that occur during your stay.
What rates, taxes, and fees apply to my reservation?
Summer season rates apply during all major holidays with a required three-night minimum stay. There is a 12% Lincoln County Tax in the cottages located in Lincoln County and 12% Lincoln City Tax in Lincoln City plus a 1.5% Oregon State Tax in all areas. A cleaning fee will be added to each reservation, that charge goes to service the hot tub before you arrive and clean the home after you depart.
How do seasonal rates work?
Step Away Lodging offers four seasonal rates that run very closely with the actual seasons, Holiday/summer pricing is charged for Memorial Day weekend, Thanksgiving and the Christmas and New Year holidays. Special Pricing applies to Independence Day with a four-night minimum stay required.
Are pets allowed at Step Away Lodging Cottages?
Step Away Lodging offers several "pet-friendly" homes. PETS OTHER THAN DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED. All homes are limited to a Maximum of 1 dog with a 50 lb. weight limit. Should we discover that a pet is or has been in the home without prior approval, you will be charged your full $350 security deposit. Our Lincoln County/City neighborhoods operate with strict dog policies. Dogs must be leashed at all times outside of the home. At NO TIME MAY A PET BE LEFT UNATTENDED in a home, or in a car on the grounds on one of our homes.
What amenities are included in Step Away Lodging vacation homes?
Each home combines cozy beach-cottage style with first-rate amenities to make your stay comfortable and memorable. All homes come fully equipped with Smart TVs for steaming, high speed internet, washer, dryer, dishwasher, drip coffee maker, linens, towels, cookware, dinnerware, paper products, and soaps...all homes offer hot tubs, some homes offer game areas, stereo's with surround sound, food processors, games, bikes, beach toys and fire pits for those extra amenities making for a memorable vacation experience. Are there fitness centers or pools nearby?
Feel like working out while at the beach...walk our seven miles stretch of Lincoln City sandy shoreline Also, available for day passes/punch cards is Fitness 101 in Salishan, Fitness 101 offers cardio, free-weights, machines and personal trainers and within two miles of any beach cottage! Just want a large pool for the kids...head to the Lincoln City Community Center for lots of family fun (there are minimal fee associated with using each facility.)
What should I know about construction in the area?
The Oregon Coast is constantly growing and there may be construction near the vacation home that you choose, this is not something that should interrupt your stay, however if you feel it will be inconvenient, please ask about the amount of construction around the cottage of your choice. Most workers are scheduled during normal business hours and take weekends off. We are exciting about the improvements that have been made to Lincoln City and the Bella Beach Community and are doing all we can to make your Oregon Coast vacation experience memorable.
What do I need to know about arrival instructions?
Please make sure that you bring and read your "Arrival Confirmation" as it has all the information you will need to find and enter the home - that document is sent via email once payment has been received in full. Early check-in and late check-outs are not allowed without prior approval from management.
Do Step Away Lodging vacation homes have security cameras?
For your safety and the security of the property, we have Ring security cameras installed on the exterior of the home, specifically monitoring the driveway and entryways. There are no cameras inside the homes or in any private areas, ensuring your full privacy during your stay.
